The bereavement counselor provides direct counseling services on site primarily to adult clients through individual/group counseling. This position also entails coordinating and participating in in-person groups, conducting initial intake with bereaved clients, assisting with community education and outreach. The bereavement counselor will assist with community crisis responses as needed. All bereavement staff participate in and attend the annual Camp Erin event.
Responsibilities:
Diagnose and treat psychological, behavioral and emotional disordersProvide specialized bereavement therapy for individuals, couples and familiesProvide specialized bereavement group therapy for people of all age rangesParticipate as a grief counselor one weekend a year in a pediatric grief campWhat you will need:
Master's degree in Social Work is required.NYS LMSW licensure is required.Minimum of 1 year of experience in Medical, Psychiatric, or Health Care settingPay Range: $30.00 - $43.08
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
