What will you do in this role?As a member of the Identity & Security Experiences team, you'll directly influence how millions interact with Netflix daily. Our focus is on building stable, reusable capabilities, enhancing Netflix operations, including streaming apps, Games, Ads, Live, Support, and Netflix House.
You'll play a pivotal role in building smooth account creation, login, and access experiences across Netflix products. You'll develop security experiences like Multi-factor authentication and innovative methods to boost security and reduce fraud. Using Web UI, Server-driven, and Backend service technologies, you'll create modular experiences that minimize client-side logic. Your work will enhance flexibility, increase experimentation speed, improve user experience, and directly contribute to our bottom line.
Key Responsibilities:Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, build, and ship innovative solutions improving access & security
Lead technical projects from ideation through launch while setting the technical direction and building Server Driven UI components, client-friendly schemas, and developing backend microservices & APIs
Focus on product, business, and partner needs for high-quality experiences without harming sign-up or engagement metrics
Ensure systems are scalable, performant, and reliable driving best practices in code quality, testing, and deployment.
Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in a timely manner.
Exceptional proficiency in the fundamentals of any programming language, with a focus on TypeScript/React and Java/Springboot and Full-stack engineering.
Proven ability to operate and troubleshoot complex systems crafted with microservice architecture and expertise in designing and implementing APIs and microservices.
Endlessly curious with a proactive approach to technology, learning, and innovation, and a keen interest in identity and security solutions, backed by experience in the security industry or building identity & security product experiences.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively, with excellent communication skills and a passion for delivering high-quality products.
Always seeking different perspectives, feedback, and relevant information to consider tradeoffs and avoid over-engineering, with a solid understanding of cloud services and architectures (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure).

Skilled in creating scalable and reusable server-side components, with an understanding of security best practices in web and server-side development, and proven experience with modern Web UI frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue.js) and Backend technologies (e.g., Node.js, Java, or Python).
7+ years of professional experience designing, building, and shipping full-stack software (frontend UI and backend services) and using unit tests and other automation to validate quality, with experience in CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
Familiar with GraphQL, server-driven UI techniques, and RESTful APIs for backend connectivity, and knowledge of security best practices in software development.
Bonus if you have experience in identity & security systems or the media & entertainment industry
QualificationsProven experience in software development with a focus on web UI and server-side technologies.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.

Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, location, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $100,000 - $720,000.
