The Role
Fisher & Paykel is an iconic New Zealand brand, a global company with a strong local heritage. Our origins inspire our culture of curiosity and passion to develop solutions designed around people - these are some of the core elements that make us unique.
We are driven by our values of being trusted, sustainably minded, innovative, generous, and curious. As a team we take a collaborative approach and have a working environment where all ideas are heard, evaluated, and tested against our leading goal - to be the world's most human-centered appliance brand.
We’re looking for a self-driven Full Stack Developer based in the Auckland office, who thrives in dynamic environments, adapts quickly to changing priorities, and is excited to solve complex problems. You’ll be joining a fast-paced team where business needs evolve quickly and often—sometimes even during a sprint. If you're comfortable navigating ambiguity, can switch gears without losing momentum, and enjoy learning new technologies, we want to hear from you.
What you'll do:
Build and maintain complex, high-performance full stack applications across our ecosystem.
Work with a wide range of technologies, integrating new tools where they fit our architecture.
Translate shifting and evolving requirements into scalable, maintainable solutions.
Proactively pick up tasks, understand business goals, and drive initiatives to completion—even when requirements are ambiguous.
Collaborate closely with product, UX, and stakeholders to balance competing priorities—including last-minute executive escalations.
Review and write clean, efficient, and reusable code for both frontend and backend.
Identify and communicate areas for improvement in our codebase, tools, and team processes.
What we're looking for:
3+ years of professional experience in full stack development (or equivalent capability).
Proficiency in modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Vue, Tailwind / Storybook nice to have understanding of Angular but not mandatory) and backend frameworks (e.g., Node.js, nice to have understanding of Java/Spring Boot, Django but not mandatory).
Experience with complex systems and codebases; you’re not afraid of messy code and know how to improve it incrementally.
Comfortable in environments where priorities can shift daily, and change is the norm.
Able to learn fast and independently - you don’t wait for instructions, you seek out problems and solutions.
Strong understanding of software engineering principles, architecture, and scalability.
Bonus: experience proposing or integrating new technologies into an existing architecture and knowledge about system integrations.
Why you'll love working here:
A dynamic environment where no two days are the same – you’ll be constantly challenged and inspired.
A supportive, inclusive culture that encourages creativity, innovation, and personal growth.
Freedom to bring your ideas to life – we welcome fresh thinking and innovation.
A team culture built on autonomy, impact, and continuous growth.
Collaborate with smart, driven, and genuinely supportive professionals.
