Job Description
This role involves working on a 12-month contract with the possibility of extending up to 24 months. The Full Stack Developer will join the Digital Design and Delivery Division (3D) to maximize capability in digital delivery through human-centered design, agile methodology, and modern data practices. The position requires full-time commitment, working across multiple projects, to enhance digital services for better user experiences.
ResponsibilitiesParticipate and contribute to project research and discovery, including field research and user interviews.Lead technical discovery and deliver related artifacts such as diagrams and documentation.Provide solution design and development services, including detailed solution designs and feature completion for exemplar projects.Identify and resolve functional and non-functional defects.Enhance solution code quality, tooling, and documentation for improved maintainability.Collaborate with frontend designers to ensure solutions align with a consistent look and feel.Advise product owners on technical efforts and implementation options.Support solution deployment and launch for limited and general availability.Contribute to a platform of user-centric services with a focus on reuse in solution design and implementation.Sustain ongoing development by onboarding technical team members, maintaining technical documentation, and adopting improved team development and quality practices.Essential Skills5+ years of experience with source control (e.g., Git).3+ years of automated unit testing and integration.3+ years of experience with database technologies, including relational databases.5+ years of experience as a Full Stack Developer on complex software solutions within an agile team.3+ years of experience with production applications using modern frameworks and frontend JavaScript.Additional Skills & Qualifications2+ years of experience in transforming legacy systems into modern digital services.Experience with frontend technologies such as Angular, React, Vue.js and backend technologies like C#, .Net Core, Node.js.Knowledge of design patterns and software architecture considerations.Experience with CI/CD pipelines.Understanding of UX design, service design, and human-centered approaches.Work Environment
The Full Stack Developer will primarily work remotely, with occasional travel to Edmonton for meetings or work sessions. Some travel within Alberta may be required for field research and user interviews. Work must be conducted within Canada. The position offers flexibility in work arrangements, with consultations on any changes.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $80.00/hr.
