GovCIO is hiring an experienced Full Stack/Cloud Architect to manage application processes and maintenance for complex conceptual data at the Department of Veterans Affairs. This role requires knowledge of SQL Server, Oracle, and database design to include software maintenance and system enhancements. This position is fully remote within the United States.
Responsibilities Lead efforts for applications managing complex conceptual data in C#, .NET, and SQL Server environments.Develop and optimize data models and database architectures to enhance performance and scalability.Conduct SQL code reviews to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and adherence to best practices.Enhance database performance by diagnosing and resolving memory and storage system bottlenecks to improve system efficiency.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement new features. QualificationsRequired Skills and Experience
Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering with 8+ years of experience or commensurate professional experienceKnowledge of software maintenance methodologies, including DevOps.Proficiency in SQL database management, query optimization, and stored procedures.Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate in a team environment.
Preferred Skills and Experience
Three-Tier Architecture: Experience developing and supporting applications with separate database, API, and front-end layers.
Front-End Development: Proficiency with React, JavaScript/Node.js, and modern UI practices. Familiar with Cypress for automated testing and tools like Visual Studio Code.
Back-End/API Development: Strong skills in .NET Core 7, C#, and ASP.NET. Unit testing experience with xUnit and Moq.
Database Engineering: Hands-on experience with SQL Server 2019, T-SQL, and database deployments via Azure DevOps.
CI/CD & DevOps: Ability to configure and troubleshoot Azure DevOps pipelines (build/deploy) with integrated automated testing. Familiar with GitHub and version control best practices.
Hosting & Infrastructure: Understanding of IIS and Windows-based hosting environments.
Project Tools & Agile: Proficient with Jira, Agile workflows, and cross-team collaboration in a secure, enterprise environment.
Security & Compliance: Awareness of secure coding practices and federal standards (e.g., NIST, FedRAMP).
Experience with microservices architecture.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management tools.
Knowledge of machine learning and AI frameworks is a plus.
Expertise in CI/CD pipeline development and automation.
Strong understanding of security protocols and data protection.
Familiarity with IoT, embedded systems, and real-time data processing.
