**Job Description:**
Looking for a Full Stack Architect with experience working with business and technology teams to define complex multi-application solutions within TD's Core Platform deposits space. The successful candidate will lead teams in defining solutions, including working closely with business and technology leaders to inform and execute on the bank's application visions.
+ The Full Stack Architect will be required to work closely with business and technology leaders to plan and prioritize long-term objectives, including defining high level architectures that adhere to the strategic direction.
+ The Full Stack Architect will lead the definition of detailed architectures, interfacing with team and partner architects to prepare well-defined end to end solutions.
+ The Architect will be required to understand and provide guidance on the technical aspects of the solution and will often work closely with the Technology team partners.
The Solution Architect will:
+ Take direction from Principal & Practice Area Architects supporting the platform.
+ Work closely with other enterprise architects, business, and technology delivery partners to define and contribute to both high-level (for estimation) and detailed solutions (for delivery).
+ Prepare and contribute to the authoring of platform architecture visions.
+ Prepare architecture blueprints / designs.
+ Prepare diagrams and other artefacts to support solution discussions and communicate decisions.
+ Perform options analyses and document Architecture Assessment of Options.
+ Ensure alignment to, and promote advancement of, the Architecture Vision for the domain.
**Customer**
+ Advise on suitability of technology stacks to define principles / key constraints for solution components; rallies the team around these principles to determine security / scalability approach, and impact assessments for future design
+ Drive continual upgrading and grounds the team in assessing practical program concerns to innovate on both server-side and user-side features as technologies / platforms expand to reduce technology debt and build resilient solutions
+ Collaborates with Practices, actively driving capability creation; mentoring and training junior colleagues to be adaptive, staying on top of expanding technologies and engineering trends and creating highly visual and functional solutions
**Shareholder**
+ Lead or contribute to cross-functional / enterprise initiatives as an organizational or subject matter expert helping to identify risk / provide guidance for significant and complex situations
+ Foresee architectural issues / gaps and identifies emerging industry trends to recommend value-added architectural improvements that will alleviate technology debt and build resilient solutions
+ Maps processes and sub-processes that bridge the gap between business problems and technology solutions
+ Keep track of changes made to code through control systems
+ Collaborates within practices, platforms or journeys comprised of diverse and complementary skills; inspiring the team to embrace changes and continually advance collective knowledge of technical tools / trends
+ Protect the interests of the organization – identify and manage risks, and escalate non-standard, high-risk activities as necessary
+ Leverage AI/ML and agentic automation techniques to enhance legacy core banking systems (e.g., IMS/DB2/MQ/COBOL), improving decisioning, product configuration, and operational efficiency.
+ Evaluate and incorporate AI-native tooling to enable modular modernization strategies, accelerate regression testing, and improve observability across legacy transactional flows.

+ Provide thought leadership and/ or industry knowledge for quality engineering best practices and participate in knowledge transfer within the team and business unit
+ Keep current on emerging trends/ developments and grow knowledge of the business, related tools and techniques
+ Keep others informed and up-to-date about the status / progress of projects and / or all relevant or useful information related to day-to-day activities
+ Contribute to team development of skills and capabilities through mentorship of others, by sharing knowledge and experiences and leveraging best practices
+ Work collaboratively with the team and leadership to proactively identify and resolve issues
+ Lead, motivate and develop relationships with internal and external business partners / stakeholders to develop productive working relationships.
**Breadth and Depth**
+ Seasoned individual contributor role with expert knowledge ofCore Banking eco-systems (personal & commercial depositandline of credit accounts, debit card)
+ Deep understanding of Core banking functionalities including product/pricing management, credit processing, account management, financial transaction processing, and financial ledger reporting.
+ Strong understanding of regulatory compliance requirement in the banking industry
+ Exceptional collaboration, communication and client-facing skills
+ Big-picture thinker, with ability to anticipate architectural gaps and identify emerging trends through both advanced business acumen and highly specialized technical knowledge of TD and its applications, programming languages, industry best practices, Bank standards, infrastructure and architectural design / solutions
+ Work autonomously on high profile, complex and/or high-risk technology projects with significant impact to the organization
**Required Experience and Education**
+ Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree: In Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
+ Years of Experience: 10+ years in IT architecture roles, with at least 5 years in a senior or lead architect role.
+ 10+ years supporting Core Banking systems and architecture
+ Cloud Modernization: Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure, Google Cloud) and cloud transformation projects.
+ Documentation: Expertise in creating detailed architectural documentation for both current and target states.
**Technical Skills**
+ Integration Technologies: Knowledge of integration methods and tools, including APIs, microservices, and middleware.
+ Mainframe platforms: COBOL, IMS TC, IMS DB, DB2, JCL, batch scheduler, MQ, Kafka, zOS/Connect
+ Cloud Platforms: Deep understanding of cloud services, deployment models, and cloud architecture best practices.
+ Enterprise Architecture: Proficiency in enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman).
+ Data Architecture: Familiarity with data management, data governance, and data integration strategies.
+ Security: Understanding of cloud security principles and practices.
**Soft Skills**
+ Leadership: Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage stakeholder expectations.
+ Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for articulating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
+ Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
+ Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing business environments and new technologies.
**Responsibilities**
+ Strategy Development: Define the architectural strategy for mainframe and cloud modernization initiatives.
+ Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and guidance throughout the project lifecycles.
+ Current and Target State Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of the current architecture and target state.
+ Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with business leaders, IT teams, and other stakeholders to align technology solutions with business goals.
+ Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
+ Standards and Best Practices: Establish and enforce architectural standards and best practices.
**Certifications (Optional but Preferred)**
+ Cloud Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Professional Cloud Architect.
+ Enterprise Architecture: TOGAF Certified.
**Tools and Technologies**
+ Architecture Tools: Experience with tools like Hopex, Sparx EA, or similar.
+ Cloud Management Tools: Familiarity with cloud management and monitoring tools.
+ CI/CD Pipelines: Knowledge of continuous integration and continuous deployment processes and tools.
