Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Full Charge Bookkeeper to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Chattanooga, Tennessee. In this role, you will play a critical part in addressing complex financial operations, ensuring accurate reconciliation, and supporting grant-related accounting processes. This position offers the opportunity to contribute your expertise while helping to restore and maintain financial integrity.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct thorough reconciliations of accounts to identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes with accuracy and efficiency.
• Oversee bank reconciliations to ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded.
• Analyze grant funding and its allocation to ensure compliance with financial regulations.
• Assist in unraveling and restructuring financial records to correct previous inaccuracies.
• Prepare detailed financial reports to support audits and organizational decision-making.
• Collaborate with auditors to ensure all financial documentation meets required standards.
• Implement clean-up processes for historical financial records to streamline future accounting.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date bookkeeping systems to support long-term and short-term enrollment tracking.
Requirements
- AS degree or higher in Accounting or Business preferred
- 3+ years of bookkeeping experience
- A deep understanding of accrual and cash basis of accounting
- Experience with QuickBooks
- Intermediate to Advance Microsoft experience
- Quarter-end experience required
- Demonstrated knowledge of Intercompany Transaction
- Adeptness in Sales Tax and Multi-state tax
- Consolidations experience preferred
- Proficiency in Year-end Close
- Able to work independently with a minimal amount of oversight
- Highly organized and able to deal with changing priorities
- Aptitude for analyzing financial data and generating accurate reports in a timely manner
- Previous experience with payroll wanted
