Full Charge Bookkeeper
Description Our Client in the Building Materials industry is hiring a Full Charge Bookkeeper! The Full Charge Bookkeeper position requires knowledge and experience in full cycle accounting. Responsibilities may include AR and/or AP duties, to include managing all communications and transactions related to invoices and incoming bills. The Full Charge Bookkeeper may prepare, post, verify, and record customer payments, and may also be involved in collection efforts. The Full Charge Bookkeeper may also accurately track what's owed to suppliers and ensure payments are properly approved and processed. The Full Charge Bookkeeper should have at least 2 years of experience with Quick Books Online. Payroll preferred but not required. Responsibilities: General Accounting: Manage the general ledger, including journal entries, reconciliations, and monthly closings. Prepare financial statements such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports. Accounts Payable (AP): Supervise processing of vendor invoices, payments, and reconciliations. Ensure timely and accurate payment cycles, maintaining positive vendor relationships. Accounts Receivable (AR): Oversee invoicing, collections, and cash applications to maintain proper cash flow. Monitor AR accounts for discrepancies, resolve issues, and ensure timely collections. Payroll Management (if applicable): Process payroll, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Track employee benefits and deductions, updating payroll data as necessary. Budget and Reporting: Monitor the budget and compare expenses to projections. Generate reports for management and assess trends to inform decision-making. Compliance and Auditing: Ensure company follows proper accounting procedures and standards. Support audits by maintaining organized and accurate records. Team Leadership: Supervise AP/AR staff, offering guidance, mentorship, and training to ensure efficiencies in financial operations. In addition to managing core bookkeeping responsibilities, the Full Charge Bookkeeper will work closely with two team members handling AR and AP, providing oversight, support, and ensuring alignment with financial best practices. Requirements: Experience: Proven track record as a Full Charge Bookkeeper or equivalent; supervisory experience in AP/AR is preferred. Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks online Knowledge Areas: Strong understanding of accounting principles, bookkeeping best practices, and payroll regulations (preferred). Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Adept in communication and collaboration across departments. Education: An associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred but not required.
