Full Charge Bookkeeper
Description Robert Half is seeking an experienced Full-Charge Construction Bookkeeper for one of our clients in the construction industry. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong accounting background, preferably in construction, who can manage the full scope of accounting operations while supporting payroll, job costing, and compliance functions. This is a permanent, direct-hire job opportunity that would require the ability to work on-site in Puyallup, WA. Key Responsibilities Include: + Prepare and review financial statements, including income statements and balance sheets. + Manage all financial transactions, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll processing. + Monitor cash flow to ensure financial stability. + Handle HR-related payroll functions, benefits administration, and L& I claims. + Review and interpret construction contracts for compliance and accuracy. + Manage AIA and progress billing processes to ensure timely payments. + Maintain accurate account analyses and reconcile discrepancies. + Apply knowledge of lien laws and subcontractor payment processes. + Process payroll in compliance with union regulations, wage deductions, and tax requirements. + Ensure compliance with construction-related tax regulations. + Oversee job costing to track project expenses accurately. + Complete monthly reconciliations for bank statements and the general ledger. + Process monthly Department of Revenue payments and union returns. + Manage weekly 401(k) contributions and perform annual reviews. Salary and Benefits: The salary range for this position is $65,000-$85,000 annually. Benefits offered with this position include Medical/Dental/Vision insurance, 401k with a match, PTO and paid holidays. Requirements • Proven experience in construction accounting or a related field, with a solid understanding of accounting principles. • Proficiency in using construction-specific accounting software such as Deltek ComputerEase. • Strong knowledge of payroll processing, including union regulations and tax compliance. • Familiarity with lien laws and handling subcontractor payments. • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Word for reporting and analysis. • Experience with job costing and tracking project expenses effectively. • Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail. • Ability to read and analyze construction contracts for accuracy and compliance.
