Description We are looking for an experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper to join our team on a contract basis in Richmond, Virginia. This role involves managing a variety of accounting tasks, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll processing, and tax preparation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bookkeeping and accounting, with excellent communication skills and proficiency in QuickBooks.
Responsibilities:
• Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes accurately and efficiently.
• Prepare detailed financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
• Perform bank reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.
• Manage payroll processing and submit payroll taxes in a timely manner.
• Prepare quarterly, monthly, and annual payroll tax returns and filings.
• Assist clients with questions related to their financial statements and provide clear explanations.
• Prepare tax returns, particularly during tax season, ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulations.
• Maintain general ledger accounts and post journal entries as needed.
• Utilize QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel for daily accounting tasks and reporting.
• Collaborate with clients to perform bookkeeping services tailored to their needs. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the accounting or bookkeeping field.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, and other accounting software.
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
• Experience with payroll preparation and tax filings, including quarterly and annual returns.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.
• Tax preparation experience is highly preferred.
• Degree or associate degree in accounting is preferred, but not required.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple client accounts effectively.
