Job Description
The Fulfillment Pharmacy Technician will work closely with pharmacists to accurately prepare prescription orders in a timely manner. The role primarily involves preparing orders for pharmacist review, managing inventory, and ensuring all scheduled orders are shipped out. This position is unique as it focuses on providing medications to patients who qualify for free drug programs, with a special emphasis on Multiple Sclerosis patients. The team primarily handles order fulfillment but also engages in some upfront verification and patient counseling within a closed-door pharmacy environment.
ResponsibilitiesInteract with various departments to provide accurately dispensed prescriptions in a timely manner.Work under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.Locate the correct medication and strength to complete the picking of orders.Prepare, count, label, and package pharmaceuticals for pharmacist approval.Purchase, receive, and coordinate inventory.Maintain and update inventory recap reports.Retrieve discontinued or expired medications from stock, discard or return them to stock as appropriate, and complete the corresponding documentation.Maintain prescription logs.Accurately calibrate equipment and document calibration according to policy.Assist with the maintenance of pharmacy temperature and cleaning logs and documents maintenance.Comply with safety, quality assurance, accreditation, legal, state, and federal regulatory requirements.Perform other duties as assigned.Comply with all policies and standards.Essential SkillsHigh school diploma or equivalent.2+ years of experience as a pharmacy technician or in a medical office role (e.g., biller, coder, office assistant, or prior authorization/certification).Familiarity with drugs commonly used to treat chronic/debilitating illnesses.State of Michigan Pharmacy Technician license.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience operating Scriptmed software.Experience in inventory management.Work Environment
The work environment is a clean specialty pharmacy where the fulfillment area is located in the back. Pharmacy technicians work collaboratively with other techs and pharmacists to package and send out prescriptions. The setting is a closed-door pharmacy, minimizing in-person contact with patients.

This is a Contract position based out of Shelby Charter Township, Michigan.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
