FTC - Manager, Awards EMEA

The Role

 The position will lead on industry programming and awards screening events to engage with industry and voters in the UK. They will work closely with the Senior Manager, Talent Relations & Awards - EMEA on overall strategy and will be responsible for managing and executing these events, primarily in the UK. This will include supporting not only top regional priority titles but also global awards priority titles. Ideally, they have experience with executing creative and impactful publicity/marketing campaigns and/or events for films and series. We are seeking someone with a deep knowledge in the UK entertainment business. This is a 12 month fixed term contract.

This is a great opportunity to join a team of professionals dedicated to supporting an exciting slate of films, series, and documentaries that feature some of the brightest filmmakers, creatives, and actors in the industry. This is a very hands-on role, one where we want you to throw the playbook out the window and push the team to innovate as we continue to push the boundaries of what we can do. 

To succeed in this role you will need:

An entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to make tough decisions, even when faced with ambiguity.

The ability to think creatively and strategically and look at the bigger picture when brainstorming campaign ideas. 

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster strong relationships with people and talent at all levels internally and externally.

A direct and candid communication style to articulate clearly what you are - and are not - trying to do.

Not be defined by past experiences and able to put a new, creative spin on what a campaign can be.

Organized, thorough and not afraid to get your hands dirty.

Eager to learn and yet, also be able to contribute effectively outside of your specialty. 

The successful candidate will have:

8 + years of experience in the film/television industry with an agency, studio, broadcaster or film/TV organisation working across awards, publicity/marketing campaigns and/or events.

Knowledge of the awards landscape. 

Knowledge of awards campaigns and awards voter membership.  

Established relationships with venues and vendors is ideal. 

Established relationships with trade journalists is ideal. 

Comfortable with travel and non-traditional working hours in the evenings and on. weekends - due to the nature of the job.

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and to effectively prioritize. 

Willingness to take on multiple administrative tasks. 

Responsiveness with a bias towards action. 

Highly organized, thorough and very hands-on.

Comfortable making tough decisions; being candid and direct.
