SUMMARY:
This job is responsible for ensuring compliance with quality standards of products produced.
RESPONSOBILITIES:
• Communicate with all levels of management within the company.
• Utilize the information to make product and process improvements.
• Assure plant adherence to polices and procedures detailed in the company product specifications compliance, HACCP, and SSOP programs.
• Coordinate, train, direct and evaluate performance of plant QA personnel.
• Management of direct reports including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
• Track and maintain records for trend analysis of the plant Quality Management programs.
• Coordinate and manage communication with plant management and local USDA IIC on regulatory issues.
• Complete familiarity with and demonstrated implementation of recall procedures, policy writing, and auditing programs.
• Formulates procedures to provide standardization of testing applications; reviews, rewrites and keeps current all laboratory policies and procedures in accordance with regulations to conform with quality assurance requirements.
• Coordinate and manage communication with plant management and local USDA on regulatory issues.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
Education: High School diploma or equivalent; Bachelors degree in Food Science or related field preferred.
Experience: Minimum 3 year supervisory experience, preferably in manufacturing or QA. Certifications related to QA, process control or auditing preferred
Computer Skills: Basic computer skills for creating simple queries spreadsheets etc. SAP knowledge preferred.
Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills verbal and written; bilingual a plus.
Supervisory: This position is responsible for supervising a small group of personnel who perform somewhat similar tasks.
