GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The FSQA Non-Vegetable Supplier Program Specialist is responsible for coordinating and auditing non-vegetable suppliers providing products to Dole Fresh Vegetables. This includes, but is not limited to, the following areas: initial approval and annual renewal processes for all non-vegetable suppliers, working with the FSQA Non-Vegetable Supplier Program Manager to assess all non-vegetable suppliers using a risk-based approach, and conducting on-site audits as needed to ensure suppliers meet all Dole FSQA expectations. This position will support the FSQA Non-Vegetable Supplier Program Manager in creating and implementing internal food safety programs for non-vegetable items, managing and maintaining procedures, leveraging data to drive continuous improvement, and managing third-party suppliers.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION:
• Ensure all Non-Vegetable Supplier Program FSQA programs and procedures are being followed and implemented correctly. • Perform approval and re-approval audits of non-vegetable suppliers according to the requirements of the FSQA Non-Vegetable Supplier Approval Program. • Ensure practices and protocols of all non-vegetable suppliers are up to date and adhere to all current regulatory guidance as well as corporate requirements and standards. • Provides oversight and follow-up on corrective actions required of non-vegetable suppliers. • Works with non-vegetable suppliers to investigate and address customer or consumer complaints related to the product provided to Dole. • Work with cross-functional teams regarding the onboarding of new commodities and suppliers. • Process large volumes of data or information and communicate recommendations for further improvement to mitigate FSQA risk. • Effectively communicate scientific and technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel. • Be aware of, and adhere to, US FDA, USDA, FSMA, and SFC regulations and guidelines associated with all supply chain elements within the area of responsibility. • Execute projects that meet the technical and business objectives of Dole Fresh Vegetables. • Assist in responding to customer requests, surveys, and other inquiries. • Must be willing to travel to various regions • Other duties as assigned.
