What You Will Do:
Lead and mentor a team of Production Controllers and Schedulers, ensuring consistent application of scheduling and kanban best practicesOversee and prioritize production schedules, guaranteeing on-time completion of each department’s kanban cardsMonitor kanban flow across multiple work cells; identify bottlenecks and coach team members on pull-system adjustmentsFacilitate daily work-cell board reviews and ensure accurate distribution of cards by the daily deadlineCoordinate with Materials & Inventory Control to secure material availability and with Engineering to uphold standard production flowPartner with Operations leadership to meet delivery targets and adjust resources as neededMaintain and optimize AX system workflows for card production and status trackingChampion the Manage for Daily Improvement (MDI) process:Own daily metric updates and pareto analysesLead root-cause problem-solving sessions when targets are not achievedAllocate labor resources in collaboration with Operations, balancing skill sets and production demandsGenerate, analyze, and distribute daily production reports and critical KPI summaries to leadership and stakeholdersCommunicate clearly and proactively via email updates, team meetings, and one-on-one coaching sessionsEnsure adherence to quality assurance standards (e.g., ISO, Six Sigma) within the Production Control functionFoster strong cross-departmental relationships with Distribution, Engineering, and other support groups to streamline planning and execution of production goalsActively participate in MDI, updating metrics and pareto, and problem solving.What You Need to Succeed:
High School Diploma or GED required.Two (2) years’ experience in the process area you will be supporting with working knowledge of area processes and job content.In addition, you ideally bring a high level of responsibility around the safety and quality of your team as it reflects on your ability to lead.
