About the team and the role:

We are the Product, Item and Transactions Experience Team within eBay’s Buyer organization. We own core buyer-facing surfaces such as Item Details Pages, Product Pages, Transaction Flows such as Auctions and Best Offer, and SEO-optimized landing experiences. These surfaces drive billions in revenue through hundreds of millions of page views across devices and browsers every day.

This role involves working on highly visible, high-impact systems where performance, accuracy, scalability, and availability are critical. You’ll be joining a data-driven agile team, contributing to real-time systems like winning bids and ensuring our buyer experience is both reliable and delightful across a global customer base.

As a frontend engineer on this team, you’ll collaborate closely with architects, product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to build scalable and maintainable frontend applications. You’ll have ownership over feature development, from concept to launch, and play an active role in improving the technology and engineering practices that power eBay.

What you will accomplish:

Collaborate on end-to-end product development, from design to release and support

Build and maintain scalable and performant web applications serving millions of users globally

Lead technical discussions and architecture decisions in a cross-functional environment

Mentor junior engineers and elevating engineering standards across teams

Apply modern web technologies to deliver innovative solutions with measurable business impact

Take part in engineering support, release, and on-call responsibilities for a 24/7 global platform

What you will bring:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or a related field

4+ years of frontend engineering experience (or 3+ with Master’s), with strong skills in TypeScript, React, Node.js, HTML, CSS (LESS/SASS), and JavaScript (Marko is a nice-to-have)

Solid experience with security, load and performance testing, accessibility, and cross-browser/cross-platform UI design

Proven track record in system design, code reviews, and building scalable, reliable web applications

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Webpack or Vite, and Git

Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience leading or mentoring across teams

Ability to plan, implement, and support frontend systems in fast-paced, production environments
