Location: Plano, TX

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Position Overview

We are seeking a friendly, organized, and detail-oriented Front Office Medical Assistant to join our team in Plano, TX. This role is essential in creating a positive first impression for patients while supporting both administrative and clinical workflows. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in a medical office setting and be proficient in AthenaOne. Prior experience in Oncology or Colon & Rectal specialties is highly preferred.


Key ResponsibilitiesGreet and check in patients, ensuring all required forms and documentation are completedSchedule appointments and manage calendars for providersEscort patients to exam rooms and assist with basic intake procedures (e.g., verifying medications, allergies, and demographic info)Record vital signs and update patient records in AthenaOneAnswer incoming calls, route messages, and respond to patient inquiries professionallyPhone in prescriptions and assist with follow-up calls as directed by providersNotify providers of patient cancellations and no-showsMaintain cleanliness and organization of front desk and waiting areaPrepare charts, scan documents, and manage electronic recordsAssist with general office duties including faxing, filing, and data entryRequired SkillsMinimum 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant or Front Office Coordinator in a healthcare settingProficiency in AthenaOne electronic health record systemStrong communication and customer service skillsAbility to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environmentPreferred QualificationsExperience working in Oncology or Colon & Rectal medical practicesCertified Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred, but non-certified candidates with relevant experience will be consideredFamiliarity with HIPAA regulations and patient confidentialityComfortable working independently and as part of a teamExperience Level

Entry to Mid-Level – Must have at least 2 years of relevant experience.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
