Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range.
Variable pay may provide additional opportunities for financial awards. This job is eligible to participate in IP’s short –term incentive plan.

The Job You Will Perform:
The Front Line Leader - Utilities is responsible for safely and efficiently utilizing the full potential of operations, maintenance, and other support resources to maximize the performance of the Utilities Department by providing quality, timely, and cost-effective services and products to the internal and external customers. This role assists the Business Unit Manager and Area Process Managers in the overall operation. This position supports the hourly workforce which includes rotating shift hours as required.
Responsible for overall safety of mill personnel and security of mill assets by conducting daily safety toolbox meetings, enforcing safety rules/policies, supporting safety goals, and conducting accident investigations. Ensure that housekeeping standards are maintained by performing periodic inspections and holding employees accountable. Manage the overall operation and crews in order to maximize production, efficiency, and environmental compliance by effective use of resources. The shift supervisor will be expected to establish performance measures, monitor inputs/outputs, and implement action plans for optimized production and overall continuous improvement. Coordinates activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and directing the work of subordinate employees. Maintains records, prepares reports, and composes correspondence relative to the work. Communicates with other Area Managers/Supervisors regarding operational requirements and plans. Works with Mill Learning Leader to identify staff development and training needs. Sets priorities for training and development Support and participate in New Member Evaluation, Training and Certification process. Evaluates and verifies employee performance through the review of completed work assignments Maintain quality that meets or exceeds customer expectations by producing products that are within manufacturing guidelines. Responsible for Reliability of all equipment including Basic Care and provide input into the Manufacturing Work Systems process to the Operations Maintenance Coordinator. Facilitate the Engagement and Crew Impact plan. Actively participate in Leadership Development programs with a focus on developing skills i.e. Front Line Leader Certification, Safety Leadership Certification. Utilize company tools to effectively manage Diversity and Inclusion. Understand and properly administer labor contract for employees on shift. Responsible for administrative/ personnel issues on shift. Respond to other duties as required.
The Skills You Will Bring:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other related field is preferred. High school diploma with equivalent experience is required Minimum of 3 years of Utilities experience (Power & Recovery) Minimum of 3 years Leadership/Management experience
