Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Project Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.
The Role
This role is for a Frontend Software Engineer who will design, implement, and operate the frontend components of Kuiper's network monitoring system. You'll work in a dynamic, complex environment, collaborating with diverse stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into intuitive, efficient user interfaces. Your expertise will be crucial in creating a seamless frontend experience that interacts with backend APIs developed by our SDE teams. You'll build systems using the latest AWS technologies and frontend frameworks, leveraging best-in-industry software engineering practices to deliver a world-class monitoring interface for Kuiper's terrestrial devices.
Export Control Requirement:

Key job responsibilities
· Actively participate in overall product strategy and UI presentation.
· Be involved in every aspect of the UI for new features – from idea generation, exploring different design options, and technical design through software development using the latest technologies and design patterns.
· Collaborate with Software Development Engineers, Product Managers, UX Designers to ensure the best experience for our customers.
· Design highly functional and lovable UI. The software must be well tested and high quality.
· The UI must be compliant with accessibility standards set at Amazon.
· Design and implement globally available distributed cloud architectures.
· Partner with device software, satellite, networking, and security engineering teams.
A day in the life
Have you wanted an opportunity to develop the software applications and services for an advanced global telecom service? This role is for an FEE who will design, build, and maintain components and services of Project Kuiper's Data Service and interact with the core Kuiper Network.
About the team
Our team owns developing the architecture, solutions & roadmap for managing the network performance for telecom services.
Basic Qualifications
- 2+ years of non-internship professional front end, web or mobile software development using JavaScript, HTML and CSS experience
- 1+ years of computer science fundamentals (object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving and complexity analysis) experience
- Experience using JavaScript frameworks such as angular and react
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of agile software development methodology experience
- Experience with common front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JS, TypeScript, and Node

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
