The Front End Web Developer will work with the eCommerce team to implement customer-facing solutions using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to improve the online shopping experience of Crate and Barrel and CB2 customers. This position requires strong proficiency in UI development as well as close collaboration and communication with Design / UX and product management business stakeholders. Projects primarily are on our customer facing websites.



This position is a fully remote individual contributor position.


A day in the life as a Front End Developer... 

Design, develop, and implement solutions using HTML, CSS, and Javascript as your toolsWork with Brand Teams, Product teams, QA, Analytics and stakeholders to understand and communicate progressConceive and build responsive and adaptive solutions for website applicationsWork on an Agile team to estimate, develop, test, deploy, and maintain, while collaborating with team members on eCom roadmap and backlog, sprint planning, execution, review, and retrospectiveParticipate in technical design meetings with other developers and assist in defining the front end web architecture, code reviews, and unit testingAdhere to pattern-libraries, style guides, site documentation, and SDLCCoordinate with the front-end development team to ensure adherence to best practicesOptimize website speed / performance and enhance SEO

What you’ll bring to the table…

Demonstrated ability building websites using HTML/CSS/Javascript for 1-3 yearsGood knowledge of CSS and Javascript coding best practicesAbility to build responsive, cross-browser, highly-performant, and accessibility compliant applications (ie WCAG)Knowledge using script framework (e.g. ReactJS, AngularJS)Experience with npm, Node.js, and deno is nice to haveBasic knowledge of state management tools such as Redux or similarBasic knowledge of RESTful APIs and integration with backend servicesProficient in using built-in browser tools like Chrome Developer ToolsBasic experience with build tools such as Webpack, Vite or similarStrong communicator and effective in conveying message to business owner, product management, design, user experience, and QA

1-3 years of experience as a Front End DeveloperExperience working with HTML5, JavaScript, Javascript Framework (React, Vue, Angular), CSS preprocessors (LESS or SASS), CSS modulesExperience with JIRA preferredRetail experience preferredBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Graphic Design, or Visual Communication desired or relatable experience; Master’s degree preferred

Minimum Starting Rate: $92,000.00 Annually

Up to: $115,000.00 Annually

Pay ranges will be adjusted upward as needed to comply with applicable state and local law. In addition to your salary, based on your role, associates may be eligible for other compensation including bonuses, sales incentives, and long term incentives.
