Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to fulfill the front desk role as a receptionist, responsible for checking in and out patients at our Infectious Disease department. This role does not involve rooming patients or handling many incoming calls, except for occasional scheduling and rescheduling. The ideal candidate must be certified and possess a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. You will be working in an environment with 14 exam rooms and fielding around 30-50 calls per day, requiring a strong focus on customer service.

ResponsibilitiesCheck in and out patients efficiently.Handle occasional scheduling and rescheduling calls.Maintain a customer service-focused approach while interacting with patients.Manage calls and queries at the front desk.Essential SkillsCertified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.Experience with EPIC systems.Minimum of 3 years of experience in medical assisting.Additional Skills & QualificationsRegistered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification is a plus.Strong customer service skills.Work Environment

The position operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. You will be part of a teaching practice that accommodates 70-100 patients, with 14 exam rooms available. The team consists of 9 Medical Assistants, with only one dedicated to phone duties. The role requires comfort with sitting and staying in the same place for extended periods.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr.
