About the role:

As a Freight Forwarding Specialist for TQL Global, you will be instrumental in the growth and development of the ocean freight forwarding business. You will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of ocean import shipments, communicating with internal and external stakeholders, maintaining accurate records and delivering high-quality customer experiences.

What you’ll be doing:

Coordinate and manage all aspects of ocean import shipments, from booking through delivery, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of goods in order to deliver high-quality customer experiencesCommunicate with overseas agents, carriers, and other service providers to arrange and confirm shipment details including booking, documentation, tracking and tracing, customs clearance and deliveryPrepare and review shipping documents including bills of lading, invoices, and customs declarations to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirementsTrack and monitor the status of import shipments, providing regular updates to clients and internal stakeholders on shipment progress and any potential delays or issuesWork closely with customs brokers and regulatory authorities to ensure smooth clearance of imported goods, resolving any customs-related issues or discrepancies as neededCollaborate with internal departments to address client inquiries, provide support and resolve shipment-related issuesMaintain accurate and up-to-date records of import shipments including tracking information, documentation and financial data using appropriate systems and softwareAdhere to internal and external KPIs and deliver exceptional compliance audit scoresStay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in ocean transportation, and proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and cost savingsProvide excellent customer service to clients, addressing their needs and providing solutions promptly and professionally

 

What you need:

Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field preferredMinimum of 1 year of experience in ocean import operations in a freight forwarding or logistics environmentStrong knowledge of ocean freight documentation, customs regulations, INCO terms and international trade practicesProficiency in using freight forwarding software and Microsoft Office applicationsCargoWise software experience preferredExcellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, vendors and internal teamsDetail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities, capable of managing multiple shipments simultaneouslyProblem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environmentCustomer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality service
