Freight Cost Agent Semi Senior Analyst

Area:

Purchase to Pay Services Americas (P2P) is part of the Supplier and Reporting (GBR) cluster and includes Procurement and Accounts Payable E2E Services for the entire Americas region. In P2P, we are responsible for acquiring goods and services, up to the payment stage. Our area is responsible for processing plant demands and paying invoices on time to avoid delays in the production process. Everything necessary for a chemical plant to operate is acquired by P2P: chemicals, reagents, gloves, food, etc.

 

Main Objective of the Position:

The freight cost agent analyst manages a freight carriers portfolio within the Freight Cost Management team. He/she is responsible for the freight´s invoice processing and the stakeholder management of its own portfolio. The freight cost agent works very closely with the account management analyst, ensuring the success of the team´s target.

 

Main Tasks:

Manage and process a portfolio for freight carriers in its cluster (Brazil, SA or US), supporting BASF business and in liaison with service providers, BU Planners, Procurement and Logistics.Understands the stakeholder’s specifications and needs. Assures daily business in terms of invoice processing and acts as single point of contact for his/her suppliers (payment accuracy).  Organizes and conduct meetings with suppliers and main stakeholders to continuously challenge and enhance the current process. Anticipate, identify and evaluate possible risks that may affect the owned process and results to propose mitigation strategies in order to achieve the established objectives.Periodically report on the progress and status of the daily business and escalate to management as needed. Maintain an open, trusting, and close relationship with the main stakeholders. Conduct trainings and participate in internal initiatives/projects as needed.  

 

Minimum Education and Qualification Requirements for the Position:

Education | Advanced student or university degree in Business Administration, Foreign Trade, Accounting, or a finance-related field. Work Experience | More than 4 years of previous experience in similar positions.Languages | Advanced proficiency in both oral and written English and Portuguese is mandatory and will be tested. Technical Skills | Advanced Excel skills are mandatory. Knowledge of SAP R/3 or SAP HANA is highly desirable. Soft Skills | Strong analytical thinking, effective communication and a customer-focused approach are essential for the position.
