**SUMMARY**
The Freight Broker is responsible for managing the end-to-end lifecycle of freight transactions, including customer acquisition, carrier coordination, shipment tracking, and delivery assurance. This role demands a blend of sales expertise, operational efficiency, and relationship management to ensure seamless execution of logistics services. The ideal candidate excels in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates strong negotiation and communication skills, and takes full ownership of each load from initiation to completion.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Develop and maintain a portfolio of shipper and carrier relationships through proactive outreach via phone, email, and CRM tools.
+ Generate rate quotes, schedule shipments, enter orders, and negotiate carrier rates to ensure cost-effective transportation solutions.
+ Execute cradle-to-grave freight management, including dispatching carriers, tracking shipments, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring timely delivery.
+ Design and implement customer-specific sales strategies, incorporating profitability analysis, equipment and mode selection, and market intelligence.
+ Secure rate agreements and solicit multi-modal and volume-based freight opportunities.
+ Coordinate load assignments, provide routing information, manage real-time issues, and schedule appointments with shippers and receivers.
+ Expand and maintain a reliable carrier base through relationship-building and performance evaluation.
+ Deliver exceptional customer service by maintaining proactive communication, resolving issues promptly, and identifying opportunities for account growth.
+ Continuously assess and improve operational processes to enhance efficiency and service quality.
+ Collaborate with the sales team to develop procedures and identify opportunities to expand service offerings and business lanes.
+ Monitor shipment performance and quality control, ensuring alignment with customer expectations.
+ Develop and refine processes that facilitate effective information sharing between customers and internal teams.

**Education & Experience:**
High School diploma or equivalent degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred. 1-3 years of experience in transportation brokerage; desired 1-2 years of experience in sales or account management is preferred, but not required.
**Travel:**
Potential to travel within a regional or nationwide capacity – may be occasional to frequent and could include overnights.
