This Foundry Quality Engineer is responsible for continual improvement of foundry quality processes to positively impact safety, quality and productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.Creation of relevant MSQS logs in Jira detailing individual quality issuesLiaising with Machine Shop Quality representatives to resolve Foundry related Quality issuesSupporting external and internal quality investigationsIssuing daily reject email to Foundry stakeholdersSubmission of Engineering concession requests as required to resolve Quality issuesSubmission of PEARs as required to resolve Quality issuesUpdating of the OTSR logParticipation in Foundry internal Quality audits

Job Knowledge and Qualifications:
 

Tertiary qualification in Materials Science, metallurgy or a related field. Knowledge and experience in heat treatment, melting and pouring, sand systems, laboratory testing, OTSR and NDTPragmatic approach to procedural writing where departmental constraints are taken into account when managing meetings with key individuals.There will be an expectation that a large portion of the role will be actively interacting with teams at the shop floor level which will include stairs and a moderate amount of walking.
