As a fast-paced, food-grade manufacturing facility, we’re committed to delivering quality, flavor, and safety in every bite. All powered by a team that works hard, works smart, and supports each other every step of the way.

We’re currently on the lookout for a skilled Forklift Operator to join our team at the Plover plant! If you’re someone who’s safety-minded, detail-driven, and enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-focused environment, this could be a great opportunity for you. From moving finished goods and stocking production lines to using SAP and scanning systems to keep things running smoothly, this role is an exciting opportunity to grow your career with McCain.

What you’ll be responsible for.

As a Forklift Operator at our Plover, WI Appetizer Plant, you’ll be a key player in keeping our production and warehouse operations running safely, smoothly, and efficiently. You’ll work closely with the Warehouse and Production teams to ensure materials are where they need to be, when they need to be there, while upholding our high standards for safety, accuracy, and teamwork.

Here’s what you’ll be accountable for:

Safe Equipment Operation: Operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks safely and efficiently in support of warehouse and production needs.

Inventory Movement: Transport raw materials, packaging supplies, and finished goods across the plant and into freezers, trailers, or to our production lines.

Loading & Unloading: Handle incoming and outgoing shipments, verify the Bills of Lading (BOL’s), and document deliveries using SAP and scanning tools.

Stocking Production Lines: Keep the production floor stocked with essential materials like cartons, cases, and film to minimize their downtime.

FIFO Rotation: Follow First Expired, First Out (FEFO) practices to maintain product freshness and inventory accuracy.

Support & Communication: Communicate clearly with all team members throughout the plant including, Quality and Supervisors, responding to callbacks and shifting priorities as needed.

Cleanliness & Safety: Maintain a clean, safe work environment by following all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), safety protocols, and job-specific training.

Cross-Department Support: Assist other departments as needed with forklift support, material movement, and supply replenishment.

Adaptability: Be flexible in your role by supporting the team’s needs across the shift, adapting to cold environments, and jumping into other tasks as assigned.

What you’ll bring to the team.

We’re looking for someone who’s not just skilled behind the wheel of a forklift, but also brings energy, positivity, and a team-first attitude to the table. If you’re someone who likes to keep things moving, problem-solve on the fly, and jump in wherever you’re needed—you’ll feel right at home here.

Here’s what we’re looking for:

Forklift experience: You’ve spent time operating a forklift in a warehouse or production environment. Certification is a plus, but not required as we’re more interested in proven experience and development of safe habits.

Positive personality: You show up with a can-do attitude, communicate clearly, and work well with people across different teams and shifts.

Self-starter energy: You don’t wait to be told what to do, instead you spot what needs doing and jump in to keep things running smoothly.

Tech-friendly mindset: You’ve worked with SAP or other inventory management systems and are comfortable using an RF scanner.

Problem-solving skills: If something’s off with the equipment or process, you take a moment to troubleshoot and if you need help, you go straight to your Supervisor for backup.

Adaptability: Cold temps? Tight turnarounds? No problem. You’re comfortable working in different environments and adjusting as things shift during your shift.

Reliability: You’re dependable, safety-conscious, and always willing to lend a hand where needed.

It’s a bonus if you have…

These aren’t required, but if you’ve got them, we’re already impressed!

A current forklift certification. While we love to see it, it’s not a dealbreaker.

Previous experience in a food production or cold storage environment would be greatly appreciated, but far from required.

Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and warehouse safety protocols isn’t necessarily needed, but something that we’d love to see.

Experience using SAP for tracking inventory and processing shipments would be super beneficial to the incoming candidate.

A natural ability to stay calm, focused, and friendly, even when the day gets busy.

A willingness to cross-train and grow into other roles over time because our ultimate goal is to see you excel with the team and grow with McCain!
