Forging Manufacturing Engineer

What do you need…


Previous experience using any ERP systems would be an advantage.
SolidWorks experience would be preferred but training can be provided.
Ability to read technical drawings and interpret tolerance stacking between op drawings is a must.
Evidence a strong mechanical understanding with the ability to problem solve.
Have the ability to understand how to rationalise and simply process which can be systematically replicated.

Have a desire to immerse themselves into converting real time data to provide production solutions along with automation integration such as robot loading.

Organise and take control of our existing store locations.
Metrology experience would be of and advantage.
You will have the ability to reorganise the forging department to ensue its functionality.

Forging Manufacturing Engineer

Location:  Leicester, Meridian Business Park, LE19 1WH

Hours of Work: Monday to Thursday 7.30 am to 4.15 pm, Friday 7.30 am to 12 noon

About the job    

You will report directly to the Engineering Manager working collaboratively to support active projects.  Working as a team within the business, your focus will be to standardise best practice, implementing SOP’s for all equipment allowing operators to systematically execute a right first-time approach. 
You will oversee and ensure all parts conform to the operation drawings performing periodic spot check at intervals throughout the working day.

You will be required to support all associates in the forging department regarding operator training along with additional support to imbed new methods and processes.

What will you be doing?
A change to the normal processes maybe required, but you will be the catalyst of how we implement and embed change.  
When scoping out new projects you will challenge the status quo and propose alternative solutions with a mindset to always to standardise and simplify processes.  

As a Forge Manufacturing Engineer, you would be expected to have knowledge of the below requirements.
    You will have at least 3 years prior forging experience.
    Hydraulic presses
    Flywheel presses
    Slitting machines
    Coatings
    Induction heating
    Tool design – preferred knowledge of SolidCAM
    Have worked with Nickel alloy materials
