FORECAST ANALYST MANAGER
Title: FORECAST ANALYST MANAGER Location: United States-Virginia-Virginia Beach Job Number: 2500029V Job Summary: Responsible for item location level forecast accuracy in-stocks and WOS stock-turns at the stores and warehouses. Oversees and provides direction to forecasting support staff to ensure effective execution of forecasting and replenishment activities. Works closely with Forecast Administrator GMM DMM Buyers Inventory and Financial Planners and vendors to support inventory sales and customer service objectives. Duties and Responsibilities: - Responsible for accuracy of item/level forecasts including promotional forecast accuracy. - Responsible for store and warehouse in-stocks and WOS/Turns. - Maintain understanding of market trends, product life cycle & environmental climates that impact demand for products and use this information to produce accurate forecasts. - Analyze and manage weekly statistical forecasts at item level. - Utilize SQL to perform statistical analysis of forecast accuracy and sales, inventory and margin performance. - Responsible for setting correct replenishment parameters to ensure forecast is received and utilized in replenishment. - Assign optimal forecast life cycles to new items, ongoing items, and discontinued items Regularly collaborates with Forecast Administrator, Buying team and vendors to modify forecasts to incorporate market information and ongoing trends into statistical forecasts. - Participate in collaborative vendor forecast management. - Identify, define and regularly evaluate new item performance. - Process new item replacement for discontinued items. - Keeps team members, buyers, planners, DMMs, GMMs, and Forecast Administrator informed of inventory level results and forecast accuracy trending. - Supervise and mentor junior analysts or forecasting support staff, providing guidance on best practices and overseeing daily task execution. - Delegate responsibilities and monitor work progress to ensure timely and accurate completion of forecasting and replenishment tasks. - Conduct performance evaluations, support professional development, and coordinate training for direct reports as needed. - Report directly to the Director of OCONUS Supply Chain and Demand Forecasting. - Completes work based upon priorities and proper flow of workload. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Requires 7 years of experience as indicated below: GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years experience in administrative, merchandising, technical, or other responsible work which enables the applicant to gain a knowledge of merchandising and forecasting/replenishment policies and practices; excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills that will enhance cross-functional analysis; ability to develop corrective and improvement measures as they relate to forecast and replenishment objectives; and the ability to analyze problems and recommend practical solutions using sound judgment. OR SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: One (1) year of academic study at the college, business, or technical (computer) level above high school may be substituted for nine (9) months of general experience. A maximum of a four (4) year Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Fashion Merchandising, or a closely related field may be substituted for up to three (3) years of general experience. AND SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in retail merchandising and replenishment operations, with demonstrated expertise in demand forecasting, inventory planning, and product lifecycle management within the fashion and apparel industry. This experience includes applying advanced forecasting techniques and analytical methods to support sales, optimize stock levels, and enhance inventory turns. Demonstrated skill in using merchandise information systems and planning software to manage replenishment and demand forecasting functions. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required, along with competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). Experience also reflects the ability to interpret and analyze data, collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, and contribute to business goals through strategic inventory and merchandise management. Familiarity with ERP systems and a proven ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced retail environment are also essential. Job: Planning
