Summary About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and is located at the Deja Brew (Area F). This is a NAF (Non-Appropriated Fund) position assigned to the 31st Force Support Squadron at Aviano AB, Italy. Responsibilities Prepare a variety of hot beverages such as cappuccinos, brewed coffee, lattes, espresso, hot chocolate, etc., by selecting proper ingredients. Serves cold beverages and food items, such as sodas, juice cookies, muffins, pastries, etc. Receives payment, operates cash register, makes and returns change to patrons. May be required to prepare documentation for cash funds accountability. Maintains work area in a neat and clean manner. Sets up/cleans tables for customers and replenishes condiment items as necessary. Performs preventative maintenance and cleaning. Scrapes, soaks, scours glassware, dishes, and utensils as required. Also performs heavy duty cleaning tasks as required such as; coffee machines, ceilings, under and behind equipment, refrigerators, washes floors and walls, sanitizes garbage cans. May unload stock from delivery trucks. Collects and transfers trash from work area to disposal area. Assists with inventories, identifies items for re-ordering. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must be able to follow simple oral instructions, be able to use hand tools for cleaning, and operate simple machines. Must be skilled in completing tasks with several steps and must use judgment in sequencing tasks. Must be able to follow cash handling procedures. Must have knowledge of sanitation standards in handling and serving food and beverages, and for cleaning equipment and work area. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution in order to qualify. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. or U.S. Territory for three (3) or more consecutive years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation. All Federal NAF employees are required by PL 104-134 to have salary payments made by electronic funds transfer/direct deposit. Probationary period may be required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from hiring preferences and priority consideration eligible.
