Summary About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and working with the Enlisted Club. This announcement includes multiple locations such as Rickenbacker's Coffee Shop, and Rise and Grind. Responsibilities Operates a small coffee and snack bar, preparing and serving a variety of hot and cold beverages (e.g. coffee, espresso, tea, smoothies) made to order snack items (e.g., crepes, waffles, ice cream) and pre-packaged food items. Operates a cash register, handles transactions, and maintains accurate cash records. Sets up and maintains the service area, ensuring cleanliness and adequate supplies. Cleans and sanitizes work areas, including equipment, floors, and surfaces. Performs heavy cleaning tasks as needed (e.g., cleaning coffee machines, refrigerators, freezers). Responsible for inventory management and re-ordering supplies. Receives deliveries of food and supplies. Accomplishes trash removal and disposal. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Ability to follow instructions, operate basic equipment, and utilize cleaning tools. Ability to perform multi-step tasks, prioritize work, and exercise sound judgment. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards, including proper food handling and equipment cleaning procedures. Proficiency in cash handling procedures and financial accountability. Ability to frequently lift and/or move objects weighing up to 40 pounds. Physical stamina to stand and walk for extended periods, and frequently stoop, reach, push, pull, and bend. Ability to obtain and maintain a Food Handler's Certificate (or complete required training). Ability to pass required background checks (local and national). Willingness to adhere to uniform requirements. Flexibility to work a non-traditional schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution in order to qualify. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. or U.S. Territory for three (3) or more consecutive years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation. All Federal NAF employees are required by PL 104-134 to have salary payments made by electronic funds transfer/direct deposit. Probationary period may be required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from hiring preferences and priority consideration eligible.
