Job Overview:

The Food Runner at our hospital plays a crucial role in our patient care experience. This position involves ensuring the timely delivery of meals to patients, maintaining dietary guidelines, and contributing to a positive atmosphere. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, compassionate, and committed to providing excellent service.

Qualifications:

Required:

Successful completion of general and department-specific orientationPrevious experience in a food service roleKnowledge of dietary restrictions and food safety standardsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAble to work in a very fast-paced environment

Preferred:

Experience in a healthcare settingCertification in food handling and safetyBilingual abilitiesExcellent problem-solving skills

Scheduling Requirements:

This is a per diem position working the evening shift.

The candidate must be available to work on weekends and holidays as needed.

Essential Functions:

Deliver meals to patients in a timely and respectful mannerAdhere to dietary restrictions and guidelines for each patientMaintain cleanliness and organization of food service areasCollaborate with healthcare and dietary teams to ensure patient satisfactionAssist in inventory management and meal preparation as needed.
