Job Overview:

Under the supervision of a Department of Food and Nutrition Services Supervisor or Manager, the Food Service Worker performs a wide variety of routine tasks in all food service areas to prepare equipment and foods for service according to standard practices and procedures and complies with regulatory requirements while ensuring that customer needs and satisfaction are met.

Qualifications:

Required:

Successful completion of site personnel general orientationSuccessful completion of department specific orientationKnowledge of food production, service and sanitation requiredAbility to follow oral and written instructions and established policies

Preferred:

High school diploma or equivalent Prior experience in food service preferred

Scheduling Requirements

Shift: DayTime: 7:00am 3:00pm Full Time Hours: 37.5 hrs.Position may require to work every other weekend depending on the department s needs.

Essential Functions:

Assists in serving meals in the cafeteria and on the units Assists in hot/cold food portioningAssists in tray set-upCollects, processes and disposes of trash accordingly. Performs general cleaning duties as requestedDelivers meals to patient care units. Assists patients when possible. Cleans food carriers upon return. Prepares, stocks and transports food carriersKeep dining room tables straightened and cleanOperates cash register accordingly. Collects cash/ guest meal tickets and makes change as neededLocks register when leaving the immediate areaParticipates and maintains cleaning schedules. Maintains cleanliness of work area, equipment and suppliesReconciles cash accurately and fills out a reconciliation slip. Responsible for all reconciliations with a $3.00 overage/shortageScrapes, scours and rinses pots, pans, utensils and equipment. Performs heavy cleaning dutiesSet up menu board to reflect current menuWipe off counters and tables, arrange and replenish items as needed. Refills and stocks condiments as necessaryFollows work assignments as establishedPerforms all other duties as assigned
