What You’ll Do:
Lead daily kitchen operations to deliver healthy, high-quality meals to students and staff
Supervise and train kitchen team members to ensure culinary excellence and efficiency
Create menus that are nutritious, kid-friendly, and compliant with USDA school nutrition guidelines
Maintain food safety, sanitation, and inventory controls in alignment with health regulations
Collaborate with school administrators and nutrition staff to support student well-being
Manage production records, vendor orders, and kitchen budgets
Foster a welcoming and inclusive kitchen culture focused on teamwork and accountability
We’re Looking For:
3+ years of experience in culinary management (school food service or institutional setting a plus)
Strong cooking skills with a focus on scratch preparation and batch cooking
Knowledge of USDA school meal requirements, production planning, and food safety standards
A proactive leader who inspires teams and delivers results
ServSafe certification
Passion for feeding students and making a difference in the school community

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Ability to manage food services operations within the school
+ Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully.
+ Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
+ Ability to work with students, staff and public.
+ Ability to solve challenging situations.
+ Ability to manage complex projects and multiple deadlines.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES (NOT LIMITED TO):
+ 1. Assumes responsibility for food service operations as they may apply and/or are assigned to particular schools.
+ 2. Serves food provided in an appealing manner.
+ 3. Assures the cleaning of all serving areas and other paraphernalia related to the production, serving or storing of all foods used.
+ 4. Participates in the assembly of foods, such as mixing salads, using a knife, assembling sandwiches and/or heating of precooked foods.
+ 5. Performs cashiering or accounting of monies collected, bank deposits, participates in ordering food and menuing, and maintaining simple daily records.
+ 6. Assists Cooks or Bakers in the preparation of foods.
+ 7. Helps and assists other workers with joint tasks when other assigned tasks are completed.
Dresses appropriate to the tasks and the workplace and to essentially meet the standards of safety, health and cleanliness.
+ Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as may be designated or assigned by the Northborough and Southborough Food Services Manager.
+ Maintains prompt and regular attendance.
+ Completes all other assignments as requested by the Superintendent of Schools or designee.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work Environment:
Work is generally performed in a school environment during the school day.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to walk, climb, stoop, reach and bend as well as climb and work on ladders.
Must be able to lift up to 42 pounds and occasionally move or lift up to 50 pounds.
