About Shriver Job Corps Center 

The Shriver Job Corps Center provides students with the opportunity to earn their High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED), and hands-on training in the following areas: Advanced Computer Systems Administration, Advanced Transportation Service Worker, various Computer Sciences, Carpentry, Automotive Maintenance, Millwright Welding, Office Administration and Security & Protective Services. 

Our 21-acre campus is nestled away minutes off of RTE 2, and 2A on Jackson Road in Devens MA. We service between 200 and 300 dorm students ages 16 to 24 years old at any given time with rolling admissions weekly. Our staff value the student experience and often cite the personal impact of what we do as a major factor of employment satisfaction. In addition, we have amenities that are open for staff to utilize such as a gym, basketball courts, full service cafeteria and more.

 

Position Summary

The Food Service Manager is responsible for the supervision and management of the food services area. Supervises and manages all kitchen staff to include Job Corps and Work-Based Learning students assigned to the department.

Responsibilities

Manages and oversees the overall Center food preparation activities to include Student Store / Snack Bar, food/supply orders, 3 meals daily, and boxed lunches for student day trips Manages the dining room, to include monitors, student behavior and Food Service workers. Ensures quality control, plans menus, coordinates food purchases and manages food service’s budget. Oversees food preparation for special functions and food service requests. Ensures compliance with all USDOL and Job Corps guidelines Participates as an active member of the Center’s HEAL (Healthy Eating, Active Lifestyles) committee. Ensures Sanitation compliance, ensures OSHA compliance, Ensures state, DOL and local compliance. Interviews and recommends for hire, disciplines and evaluates performance of the direct report staff. Fills staff vacancies in a timely manner
