Food Service Coordinator | Day Shift (32hrs/wk)

The Food Service Coordinator is a multi-tasked position encompassing a variety of critical duties in the Nutrition Services Department to include, but is not limited to the following; facilitates ordering from a variety of vendors; coordination of catering events, including set-up, clean-up, ordering and creating menus; various record keeping, cleaning and organization of storage areas. Provides direction to Nutrition Services staff.

Qualifications:
+ High School Diploma or GED. Food preparation and coordinator experience.
+ Serv Safe Certification.
+ To be eligible for the Driver portion of the position:
+ Current Driver’s License required.
+ Driving record for the previous thirty-six (36) months must not reflect any major driving offenses (i.e; DUI, convicted of a felony involving a motor vehicle, suspended license, three (3) or more speeding tickets or other moving violations, etc.).
+ In addition, personal vehicles used for LH business:
+ State law minimum liability coverage limits required.
+ Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.
+ Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.
+ Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
+ Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed.
Job Specific Duties:
+ Facilitates ordering from a variety of vendors. Inventories and assesses ordering needs of food and non- food items.
+ Contacts vendors using approved methods to place orders. Establishes and maintains relations with Vendor representatives.
+ Maintains appropriate par levels while monitoring costs. Compares vendor invoices to contract bid pricing.
+ Provides direction to Nutrition Services staff.
+ Coordinates catering events, including set-up, clean-up, ordering and creating menus.
+ Transfers catering requests to standard kitchen format. Updates and organizes log book.
+ Interprets clients' needs appropriate for the occasion.
+ Provides direction to staff for catering events.
+ Various record keeping including but not limited to; month end budget tracking, inventorying, finance reports, temperature logs, sanitation reports, time cards, etc.
+ Coordinates schedule in Food Service Directors absence.
+ Ordering and performing surveys for Cafe.
+ Reviews Cafe menus one week in advance based on items on hand.
+ Cleaning and organizing of storage areas.
+ Items are stored appropriately and labeled correctly.

Schedule:
Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
