Shift: (1st shift)

Schedule: Must be able to work a flexible schedule between the hours of 6:00 am - 5:00 pm (flex as needed), including overtime & weekends (Saturday & Sunday).

Pay Rate: $24.35/hour. This position is eligible for overtime pay and is paid weekly.

SUMMARY: The Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA) Technician position is responsible for:

Performing physical and visual inspections of product, equipment, and plant systems then documenting and calculating results accurately.Taking corrective action when necessary (alert appropriate personnel to adjust process; identify, segregate, & isolate non-conforming product) and report results to management.Review daily FSQA records for accuracy, completeness, and conformance to established requirements.Investigate all issues where nonconformance's are identified on their shift and verify that all non-conforming product is properly isolated, identified and placed on Hold. Identify and address the cause of the problem.Inform FSQA management of all Quality & Food Safety issues which were identified on their shift in a timely manner.Inspect product to determine compliance with order specifications, company's quality control system for compliance with legal requirements, and shipping and packing facilities for conformity to specified standards.Understand responsibilities and performs all duties in accordance to USDA, company policy, and established procedures.Any additional assignments requested.All team members are responsible for safety. This includes but is not limited to personal safety and food safety.


REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience: 1+ year experience of related food manufacturing industry OR related Food Safety & Quality Assurance type experience.

Communication Skills: Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Computer Skills: Strong computer skills. General knowledge of Windows Microsoft Office Applications. Must be proficient on computer data entry and analysis, email communication, and understanding file management.

Special Skills: Must possess skills to complete and review Tyson paperwork; ability to lead by example and motivate the hourly workforce; good problem identification and problem-solving skills; math and organizational skills; ability to read and interpret product specifications; must function well under stress; must have flexibility to work where and when needed in hot and cold environment.

Physical Requirements:

Position involves heavy lifting (70 lbs. or more).Ability to stand on hard surface for up to 9 hours per dayMust work in cold/hot temperaturesMust be able to work in wet environmentRepetitive bending, reaching, squatting, gripping, pushing and pullingMust be able to reach high and low levels, frequentlyAbility to climb step ladders and or stairsMust be able to work overtime and weekendsPosition will require Lock Out Tag Out certification
