Food Safety Coordinator

Job Description:

This position provides Technical leadership in implementation of Food Safety elements of the Quality Management Process (QMP). Drives project management and continuous improvement of their designated site Quality & Food Safety (Q&FS) Management systems that enable the reliable delivery of products that meet all external legislative requirements and all internal Quality &Food Safety global standards. QFS Director appoints this role to be the Food Safety Team Leader at the site.

What are we looking for?

Minimum QualificationsBS degree in Food Science, Food Safety, Engineering, Chemistry or related technical field and internship

in quality and food safety in a manufacturing environment and or combination of education and 5+ years demonstrated success in relevant manufacturing/quality experience

Demonstrated leadership capabilities in leading/influencing others

Ability to travel 10% of the time

BS degree in Food Science, Food Safety, Engineering, Chemistry or related technical field and

At least 3 years of experience in different quality related areas such as raw materials, distribution,

manufacturing or

At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing site managing quality and food safety management

systems responsible position related to food safety or Quality and food safety management system

Demonstrated success leading a team

Food safety risk, identification and management, HACCP and prerequisite controls

Knowledge of and experience with ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management Systems

Knowledge of GMP, GLP, food allergens, pest control, sanitation, and food safety regulations

Experience with GFSI Quality Systems such as SQF, BRC, FSSC22000, ISO9000 or ISO17025

Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

Leadership within a team and ability to lead change

What will be your key responsibilities?

Development and roll out of food safety training to the site and support functions (HACCP, Advanced Safety)

Provide governance to Mars internal Standards and prerequisite programs such as Microbiological verification, environmental program, Mycotoxin, Allergens, Cleaning and Sanitation programs

Provide governance to HACCP and Food Safety Plan within the site, provide input to the Value stream

Food safety. Food Safety Team Leader at the site. Manage validation of CCP/OPRP preventive controls programs within the site

Responsible for providing site input to the Material Risk Assessments (MRA’s)

Lead root cause analysis investigation of food safety incidents and effective implementation of corrective/preventive actions

Manage analytical program for the site, including training and round robins

In partnership with the Value Stream Lead represent R&D at change management and handover meetings to ensure Food Safety deliverables

Translate external food safety requirements such as regulations or customer needs into procedures or best practices for site
