Position Availability: Position Title: Food Pantry Outreach Coordinator Requisition Number: 0406073652 Location New York City Position Type: Student Department: CA/Student Success Responsibilities: Student Support and Advocacy is seeking one Food Pantry Outreach Coordinator, who will support community outreach and resource gathering efforts for the food pantry. The position is open to New School students with a Federal Work Study (FWS) award as part of their financial aid package for the academic year 2025-2026.

RESPONSIBILITIES Coordinate food pantry outreach which may include creation of digital marketing, curation of newsletter content and food resources, flier distribution, tabling, and creation of social media messaging, including de-stigmatization of food insecurity. Collaborate with campus partners to create a community support strategy including food drives and other initiatives to support the pantry. Have a physical presence in the food pantry, assisting with functions of the Food Pantry position including but not limited to stocking food deliveries, labeling food, taking inventory, and overseeing in person distribution. Participate in regular 1:1 meetings with supervisor to discuss pantry outreach efforts and opportunities. Participate in regular Food Pantry operations team meetings, pending availability. Liaise with students, staff and faculty as a student ambassador of the Food Pantry. Collaborate with the Food Pantry team members to research and create new food security education content to accompany the pantry’s use. This may include workshops, website content, food demos, recipes, handouts and more. Assist with special projects and events related to the mission of food and basic needs security, including surveys, focus groups, etc. Assist with maintenance and development of lists of resources for low-income and basic needs insecure students.


WORK MODE Hybrid/Remote – Employees hired for this position primarily work remotely with the occasional on-campus presence required with advanced notice. Employees in this role will also be expected to use their best judgment to be on campus when necessary in order to best fulfill the responsibilities of their job descriptions.
SALARY RANGE$16.50-20/hr commensurate with experience Minimum Qualifications: The Food Pantry Outreach Coordinator must have prior experience working as a Food Pantry Assistant for at least one semester to one academic year. Must be available to work for a minimum of 8 hours per week, and be available to facilitate in person outreach initiatives, including tabling. A strong work ethic, the ability to take initiative, work independently, communicate clearly and meet deadlines. Must be organized and able to interact with students, staff, and faculty of diverse backgrounds. Must be able to list boxes weighing up to 35 lbs.



Preferred Qualifications: Experience with organizing, outreach, or volunteering Adeptness with Canva and Instagram, and familiarity with Google Apps, including Google Drive, Docs, Forms, Sheets, etc. Interest in health, well-being and food security Familiarity with issues specific to university students A respect for diversity and an open mind
