THE ROLE

The Food and Beverage Supervisor is responsible for supporting and overseeing all aspects of food and beverage operations. This role ensures that daily service runs smoothly, maintains high standards of guest experience, and assists in supervising staff to achieve operational, safety, and quality goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Follow all safety and sanitation standards, neatness, and organization of work areasFollow all company drink and food recipes and procedures to provide high quality and consistent service to guestsGreet all guests with fast, friendly, personalized serviceEnsuring that all guests are educated on products and service offeringsAnswer guest questions regarding food and coffee blends, preparation, and product freshnessProvide excellent customer service to guests by being knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the café’s menu and productsAccurately process sales orders into the POS system, inform guests of amount owed, and close out receipts in a courteous and friendly mannerAssist with station duties and performing other assigned duties/tasks—as neededPerform other duties as assigned by leadership

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly manage the floor staff while having direct interaction with customersMaintain accurate records during the shift and accurately balance the day at the end of shiftEnsure that the correct closing procedures are followed: all areas of the café are to be left clean, tidy and secure, ready for the next day’s serviceAssist with daily, weekly and monthly inventory—as needed

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE     

High school diploma or equivalent (culinary training); some college preferredAt least two years’ experience in the food and beverage industryServSafe or Food Handler’s certification

 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Must be at least 18 years of agePersonable, friendly and welcomingAbility to read, speak and write in English fluentlyExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to effectively listen and take direction/instructionAbility to effectively communicate with team members and guestsExcellent knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service standardsFluency in multiple languagesKnowledge of electronic reservation systems (preferably OpenTable)Ability to work extended hours and flexible shifts including mornings, nights, weekends and holidaysWillingness and drive to consistently exceed guest expectationsAbility to handle challenges, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving as necessaryAbility to lift and transport food and other items weighing up to 15 poundsExcellent attention to detail, and seamless organization with elevated time management skillsAbility to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds up and down stairs/rampsAbility to work extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidaysAbility to interact with co-workers in order to assure compliance with company service standards, inventory, and cash control proceduresSufficient mobility to perform assigned production tasks, to include constant reaching, bending, stooping, wiping, pushing, and pulling for extended periods of timeAbility to strictly adhere to company uniform standards, including the ability to maintain personal hygiene and a well-groomed appearance per appearance policy at all times

COMPENSATION

$25.00/hour and a generous benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid vacation, and 401(k) plan.
