Avio Aero Advanced Technology Operations is looking for a highly motivated and skilled engineer to join our Fluid and Thermal System Design team.
Innovative engines architectures require a step forward in terms of thermal management capabilities as well as the high-power extraction demand is leading to the need of additional technology development and different thermal design approach to the whole system.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing and optimizing fluid and thermal systems for aerospace military applications.
The position requires strong technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a commitment to Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC), with safety as the top priority.
The job position refers to Advanced Technology with a specific focus on military engines demonstrators therefore it might involve managing highly classified data.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

Design and develop fluid and thermal systems for aerospace applications, including cooling, lubrication, and heat transfer systems

Develop and validate models to predict system performance under various operating conditions

Contributing to the lube and Thermal Management System (TMS) activities during the development phases, coordinating related activities and external resources where required

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing engineers, to integrate fluid and thermal systems into larger aerospace systems

Contribute to formulate and implement plans to achieve technical requirements, schedules and program commitments for fluid and thermal systems

Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations and company policies related to safety, quality, and environmental impact

Prepare technical documentation, including design reports, test plans and presentations for internal and external stakeholders

Support root cause analysis and troubleshooting of system issues during development and production phases

Represent the thermal systems design team in the coordination with other technical disciplines, with understanding of engine integration at the system level

Qualifications/Requirements

Master’s degree in Engineering, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering preferred

Strong knowledge of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics and heat transfer principles.

Strong experience in fluid and thermal system design, preferably in turbomachinery or aeroderivative applications

Good knowledge of fundamental mechanical design concepts, mechanics of materials, design hand calculations

Ability to work successfully in global team environment

Excellent leadership, communication, and teamwork skills

Fluency in Italian and English

Work Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required
