Flow Coordinator
Description We are looking for a dedicated Flow Coordinator to join our team in Palo Alto, California. In this long-term contract position, you will play a key role in enhancing patient care efficiency while maintaining high levels of satisfaction. Working under the direction of a physician, you will assist in streamlining processes, documenting medical information, and serving as a liaison between healthcare providers and patients. Responsibilities: • Document patient histories, including present illness, past medical history, family and social history, and physical examination findings under the direction of a physician. • Record laboratory test results, radiographic images, and procedures as instructed by the supervising physician. • Assist physicians with routine tasks to improve the efficiency of patient care. • Act as a liaison between the physician, patients, and emergency department staff to ensure effective communication. • Accompany physicians during patient examinations and document findings in the electronic medical record as directed. • Verify and amend documentation entries to ensure accuracy and completeness under the supervision of the physician. • Compile and review patient records, including nurses’ notes, referral documents, and prior health records, to assist in patient care. • Notify physicians about test results, critical values, and patient readiness for procedures or disposition. • Enhance the patient experience by addressing comfort needs, such as providing blankets, pillows, and nourishment, with physician approval. • Electronically sign documentation entries in conjunction with the supervising physician’s signature. Requirements • Strong customer service skills to ensure patient satisfaction and effective communication. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. • Experience with electronic medical record systems, such as Epic Software. • Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare documentation processes. • Ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff. • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills to manage a dynamic clinical environment. • Prior experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in patient registration or similar roles. • Strong attention to detail to maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
