Floor Tech Supervisor
**Overview** Job Summary The Floor Tech Supervisor oversees a team of floor technicians responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and safety of all floor surfaces within the facility. This role ensures that all floor care procedures are performed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. **Pay** : 18.00/hr The pay listed is the pay range for this position. Any specific offer will vary based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data. **Shift:** Sunday - Thursday 10 pm - 6:30 am Key Responsibilities + Supervise and coordinate daily activities of floor tech staff, including scheduling, task assignments, and performance monitoring. + Train new and existing employees on proper floor care techniques, equipment usage, and safety protocols. + Inspect floors regularly to ensure cleanliness and identify areas needing attention or repair. + Operate and maintain floor care equipment such as buffers, scrubbers, extractors, and burnishers. + Ensure proper use of chemicals and cleaning agents in accordance with safety guidelines. + Maintain inventory of floor care supplies and request replenishments as needed. + Respond to emergency clean-up situations and coordinate appropriate response. + Ensure compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations. + Provide feedback and coaching to team members to improve performance and efficiency. + Prepare reports on floor care activities, incidents, and maintenance needs. Qualifications + High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in custodial or janitorial services preferred. + 4+ years of experience in floor care, including stripping, waxing, buffing, and carpet cleaning. + 2+ year of supervisory or team lead experience in a custodial or facilities setting. + Knowledge of floor care equipment and maintenance procedures. + Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. + Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends if needed. + Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive tasks. Essential Skills for a Floor Tech Supervisor Technical Skills + Floor Care Expertise: Proficient in stripping, waxing, buffing, burnishing, and carpet cleaning. + Equipment Operation: Skilled in using and maintaining floor care machines (e.g., auto scrubbers, extractors, buffers). + Chemical Knowledge: Understanding of cleaning agents, dilution ratios, and safety data sheets (SDS). + Safety Compliance: Knowledge of OSHA standards and safe handling of equipment and chemicals. Leadership & Supervisory Skills + Team Management: Ability to lead, motivate, and supervise a team of floor technicians. + Training & Development: Capable of training staff on procedures, safety, and equipment use. + Conflict Resolution: Skilled in addressing personnel issues and maintaining team harmony. + Performance Evaluation: Experience in monitoring and improving employee performance. Organizational Skills + Scheduling: Efficient in creating and managing work schedules and shift coverage. + Inventory Management: Keeping track of supplies and ensuring timely replenishment. + Quality Control: Conducting inspections and ensuring standards are met consistently. + Record Keeping: Maintaining logs of work completed, incidents, and maintenance needs. Communication Skills + Clear Instructions: Able to give precise directions to staff. + Reporting: Communicating effectively with upper management regarding team performance and facility needs. + Customer Service: Interacting professionally with clients, staff, and visitors. Physical & Mental Attributes + Stamina: Capable of standing, walking, and lifting for extended periods. + Attention to Detail: Ensures thorough cleaning and maintenance. + Problem-Solving: Quickly identifies and resolves issues related to floor care or team operations.
