Float Medical Assistant

Monday-Thursday 7A-5P

Float MA to Chattanooga and Athens locations, required.

1. Performs tasks assigned by the Registered Nurse to maintain patient flow in the pre-op and post-op areas (i.e. Complete vital signs and documentation of information, Assisting patient with admission and post-operative activities.)

2.\tSupport for the pre-op and post-op areas (i.e. Maintaining supply levels, Maintains equipment ready for use, Assists with communication to business office/registration area/waiting area)

4.\tMay support business office areas as appropriate (i.e. Scheduling relief when necessary, Registration relief when necessary)

5.\tAssists staff with emergency care as appropriate.

6.\tDemonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Possesses an understanding of the range of treatment needed by patients dependent on the stage of growth and development of an age group’s life span.

7.\tParticipates in staff meetings, committees, staff development and educational programs to meet personal, professional, facility certification and regulatory requirements as defined in Title XXII licensure requirements, Medicare, and the accreditation organization.

8.\tAccepts responsibility for patient safety and assures safe practice.

9.\tDemonstrates competency necessary to perform patient care.

10.\tParticipates as a member of the Center team to promote a positive working environment.

11.\tAdheres to policies and procedures of the facility. Assists in developing policies and procedures as needed.

12.\tPerforms all other duties as assigned.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

1.\tHigh school diploma required.

2.\tCompletion of Medical Assistant Certification course with emphasis on back office and patient care.

3.\tThree years of clinical experience preferred.

4.\tBLS required (Renewed every two years).

5.\tAbility to communicate well with other healthcare professionals as well as with lay persons.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
