What You’ll Do:
Tests, services, and repairs tractors, trailers and related mechanical components.
· Perform in-depth diagnostic and repairs on engines, transmission, driveline, HVAC, electrical, suspension, lighting systems, body panels, brakes and air systems etc.
· Perform light trailer body repairs including doors, tires, lighting system etc.
· Act as a mentor and trainer to Tech I and II’s as needed.
· Identify and obtain necessary replacement parts as needed to execute repairs.
· Drive trucks and yard jockey trailers in and out of shop before and after repairs.
· Repair/replace bolts on body parts such as hoods and cab extenders.
· Perform DOT inspections as outlined in USX guidelines; accurately complete DOT forms and all other forms of documentation in timely fashion.
· Perform open seat inspections to prepare tractor for next driver.
· Perform 90-day lease operator inspections.
· Perform basic or minor repairs and inspections on brakes, tires, wiring etc.
· Perform basic and routine preventative maintenance on tractors and trailers as outlined in USX PM guidelines.
· Check vehicle fluids (e.g. transmission, oil, windshield wiper, antifreeze, etc.).
· Change vehicle tires.
· Grease mechanical parts.
· Clean and maintain work area on a daily basis.
· Maintain a high level of productivity and be able to work within or better than SRT times.
Perform other duties as assigned.
