Fleet Technician 2

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
The position includes, but is not limited to, the following essential job duties, responsibilities, and requirements:

Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on fleet vehicles (brakes, air systems, top-end work, etc.,)Performs standard component inspections and repairs.Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.Diagnoses standard mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic tools when applicable.Conduct brakes, engine, transmission, and other system repairs.Identifies root causes of basic failures/conditions and performs repairs as required.Performs preventative maintenance.Replace defective components as instructed.Maintain accurate records of services performed and parts used.Conducts road tests to verify repairs and ensure vehicles meet safety standards.Assist in maintaining an inventory of parts and supplies.Performs facility maintenance duties.Interacts with operators/drivers to properly determine the nature of the complaint once assigned a task.Utilizes key functions of the Shop Management System and electronic documentation available.Works under all federal/provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, DOT, etc.)Performs other support duties as required to support operations. These could include but are not limited to road service support.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma or equivalentPost-secondary vocational education strongly preferred.Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing diesel and gasoline engines.Strong understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems.Ability to use diagnostic tools and repair equipment effectively.Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred).Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Must have a valid driver’s license.Valid CDL (license A) is highly desired.Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire.
