Job Overview:
The Fleet HSE Coordinator supports all PSC companies by driving health, safety, and environmental (HSE) compliance across fleet operations, with a primary focus on repair and maintenance activities. This role plays a key part in ensuring that all fleet facilities including shops and yards maintain a safe, compliant, and high-performing work environment. The Fleet HSE Coordinator works closely with the HSE Director of Fleet and all other PSC HSE teams to implement HSE systems, identify risks, conduct training, and support incident prevention and response.
Success in this role requires a strong moral compass, a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and the ability to build relationships with frontline employees and leadership. A general understanding of heavy equipment, CDL operations, fleet safety, and telematics is preferred.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Support compliance with federal, state, and local regulations as well as company and customer HSE requirements. Conduct inspections of shops, yards, and job sites to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety protocols. Participate in incident investigations, including root cause analysis and follow-up on corrective actions. Support the development and delivery of HSE training programs, tailored to fleet maintenance and operations. Monitor, track, and analyze HSE metrics and trends to drive continuous improvement. Championing a strong safety culture by promoting best practices and engaging all levels of staff in safety initiatives. Communicate lessons learned, corrective actions, and regulatory updates across all PSC fleet locations. Represent the Fleet HSE team in cross-functional initiatives and provide input on safety-related projects.Education and Experience Requirements:
Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, DOT requirements, and other relevant safety standards. Familiarity with fleet operations, heavy equipment, vehicle maintenance, and telematics systems. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to deliver in-person and virtual training. Capable of conducting audits, inspections, and root cause analyses with accuracy and objectivity. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with Sitedocs software a plus. Strong organizational and time management skills; able to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment. Ability to foster accountability, lead by example, and influence safety behavior in the field and shop settings.Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in an HSE role within transportation, fleet, or heavy equipment operations OSHA 30 Experience supporting multiple locations or remote teams Proficient in conducting Root Cause Analysis Willingness and ability to travel up to 70%, including short-notice assignmentsPay Range: $30 - $40 per hour depending upon experience
