We’re looking for an experienced Fleet Delivery Manager to join our Bedford team. In this pivotal role, you’ll lead multi-functional teams to deliver full maintenance services under a Service Agreement — driving high performance in safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction, all measured by cost, quality, and outcomes.
You’ll ensure fleet compliance with all Rail industry regulations, standards, and Siemens policies while fostering productivity, innovation, and collaboration. Managing a team of around 35 employees, you’ll also be responsible for delivering contract budgets ranging from £5–20m per year.
You ‘ll make a difference by ….Ensuring a strong safety culture by implementing and maintaining Siemens’ HSEQW policies, fostering a safe working environment, and engaging your team in safety improvements.Leading and managing site-specific HSEW initiatives, conducting regular reviews, and ensuring continuous improvements in health, safety, and environmental practices.Overseeing the efficient delivery of overhaul, modification, and upgrade projects while driving business improvement through KPI development and performance monitoring.Building and maintaining strong customer relationships, acting as the first point of contact for operational issues, and supporting customer objectives through collaboration.Managing financial and commercial aspects, including budgeting, contract compliance, and supplier performance, to ensure cost-effective service delivery.Ensuring fleet compliance with all maintenance documentation, regulations, and Siemens policies while driving reliability and performance improvements.Overseeing depot assets, facilities, and equipment to ensure they meet operational and contractual requirements.Leading and developing a high-performance team, fostering employee engagement, and supporting career growth through Siemens' management and leadership frameworks.Driving continuous improvement initiatives and process enhancements to optimise productivity and efficiency.Supporting compliance with Siemens' internal control procedures, policies, and external regulations, ensuring adherence to governance and reporting standards.
Your success will be grounded by …In-depth knowledge of Rolling Stock maintenance techniques and procedures.A broad technical understanding of the Rolling Stock relevant to this role.Proven experience in managing and leading multi-functional teams in a rail, production, fast-moving, or complex environment.An Engineering degree or equivalent experience.Strong contract and commercial experience.Experience in managing budgets effectively.Ability to negotiate with workplace representatives.Knowledge of continuous improvement techniques and principles.
It would also be helpful to have the following:Experience in fleet introduction.Previous experience of managing P&L.IOSH/NEBOSH certificate in Health and Safety or equivalent experience.Understanding of industry maintenance best practices.Awareness of material planning, inventory control, and warehouse management.
