We’re hiring a Fleet Account Analyst for our Corporate HQ in Columbia, MO and we’re looking for someone who’s ready to grow with us, bring energy and drive to their work, and help us build the future of construction.
The Payables Analyst I is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable transactions and maintaining vendor relationships across a broad network. This role combines transactional AP functions with analytical responsibilities such as reconciliations, discrepancy resolution, and process improvement initiatives.
Ideal candidates will have a solid foundation in accounting operations and the ability to work both independently and cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment. The role requires a strong sense of integrity, sound judgment, and a commitment to operating without bias while ensuring that all financial practices are handled objectively and fairly.
Primary Responsibilities Process and code high-volume accounts payable transactions accurately in accordance with GAAP and internal controls. Manage vendor relationships, including issue resolution, invoice discrepancies, and statement reconciliations. Perform monthly reconciliations of vendor accounts, company credit cards, and proactively address discrepancies. Prepare, schedule, and process payments (ACH, checks, wires) while ensuring accuracy and timely execution. Investigate and resolve complex invoice issues by collaborating with internal purchasers and third-party vendors. Support month-end close activities and assist with internal and external audits. Maintain and improve workflows for P2P processes, suggesting automation or enhancements where appropriate. Supports the creation and maintenance of efficient workflows and processes. Collaborate with the team to streamline processes, implement new workflows when needed, and test new systems. Maintain recurring reports using Excel and Google Sheets, applying pivot tables, filters, and lookup functions (e.g., VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP). Conduct periodic audits of purchasing and P2P records to identify inconsistencies or potential improvements. Work cross-functionally with finance, procurement, and other departments to align financial activities and reporting. Minimum of 1 year of experience in accounts payable, accounting operations, or a related finance role. Experience with invoice reconciliation, vendor management, and process improvement preferred. Physical Requirements Must be able to sit at a desk and work from a computer for long periods of time Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
