The Fixed Assets Accountant will be responsible for managing and accounting for the company's fixed assets, tracking capital projects, and coordinating with project managers. This role involves reviewing and approving capital projects, ensuring adherence to capital expenditure policies, and handling month-end closing activities. The accountant will also manage the quarterly impairment of assets review and oversee the periodic fixed asset physical counts.
Responsibilities:Account for company fixed assets, including tracking capital projects and coordinating with project managers.Review and approve capital projects with assessment of capital/expense determination.Monitor adherence to capital expenditure policies.Review asset purchases, facilities, and repairs/maintenance expenditures for proper accounting.Conduct month-end closing activities, including system closing and capitalization of capital projects.Oversee asset additions/retirements and post depreciation expense.Compile and issue monthly fixed asset reporting.Complete year-end financial closing activities and prepare information for external auditors.Manage and coordinate periodic fixed asset physical counts, including documentation and reporting.Manage quarterly impairment of assets review and assessment.Manage quarterly review of goods received/not invoiced liabilities.Produce fixed asset book and tax depreciation expense reporting.Play a key role in upgrading and managing the Sage Fixed Assets module.Play a key role in upgrading and managing the WorkPlace ereq system.Complete other accounting projects and tasks as assigned.Qualifications:3+ years of Fixed Assets team experience.3+ years of operational/GL accounting experience.Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.Intermediate/advanced Excel experience.3+ years of Sage experience preferred.3+ years of fixed assets experience in construction/manufacturing industry preferred.Work Environment:The role offers flexibility for occasional work from home for life events. The position is primarily based on-site, with leadership and accounting teams present. Depending on the candidate's level, there may be hybrid flexibility for higher-level interim positions, allowing 2-4 days per week working from home.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $47.00 - $53.00/hr.
