This exciting role has the responsibility for coordinating financial accounting, reporting and analytical activities with regards to the Mexico Fixed Assets, leasing and prepaid expenses.

What You Can Expect
Responsible for the Mexico unit´s Fixed Assets/Leasing/Prepaid expenses related tasks: prepare and document in adherence to corporate policy, including month end activities closing entries and adjustments.
Safeguard accurate posting of asset in fixed asset ledgers in a timely manner
Collaborate closely with Production, Corporate accounting and Auditors to ensure compliance with GAAP guidelines (ASC 360/340/842) and company policy and procedures.
Ensure timeline and accurate bookings of Construction in Progress, Fixed Asset Capitalization, Fixed Assets scraping and accelerations
Perform fixed assets depreciation, fixed asset write-offs, projections as needed and especially for budget planning purposes
Prepare and review fixed asset account reconciliations and analysis to ensure completeness and accuracy and resolve account discrepancies on a timely basis
Oversee SOX controls in Fixed assets process: CAR approvals, Capitalizations, inventory, disposals, asset transfers, leasing additions/disposals
Plan, coordinate count and record results of periodic fixed assets physical inventory
Periodic assessment regarding assets impairment
Drive global process automation, documentation and continuous improvement initiatives for fixed assets geared towards operational improvement and alignment across legal entities
Provide training and guidance to ensure that the review, approval, and accounting policies for capital purchases are globally aligned and consistently applied.
Prepare supporting documentation and respond to inquiries for the company’s quarterly, interim and year end audits, including SOX internal controls processes and procedures
Keep up to date Fixed assets information for Tax compliance purposes
Ensure timeline and accurate recording leases in connection with ASC 842. Obtain information of new leases, term changes and lease terminations. Updating database on Visual Lease application for reporting and adjustments determination.
Prepare journal entries and reconcile balance accounts within the scope that all the area requires, collaborating actively with the rest of the accounting team in the delivery tasks related to the Month End closing process
Participate actively in cross training program to assure the business continuity for the area
Participate and/or lead ah-doc projects or tasks for the area.
What You Bring to the Table
At least two years in a similar role, preferably in a global company or dispatch
Strong communicator with the ability to influence across all levels within the organization.
High degree of independent judgment and initiative.
Strong organizational skills with ability to manage priorities in a rapidly changing environment.
Experience making decisions and escalating sensitive issues.
Strong US GAAP, Mexican IFRS and Tax requirements related to the scope of this position.
Fluency (oral and written) in English and Spanish
